If you would like to include a river cruise of the Waikato river with your guided-walk experience then email and tell us...

River Cruise and Dinner
Your cruise will be on board the MV Riverboat Waireka, first launched in 1908 and lovingly restored by its owners. pureORAwalks can arrange for dinner to be served onboard the riverboat or you can disembark and enjoy dinner by the riverside.

Fish for your meal
If the season is right, try your hand at fishing for trout and the chef will include it with your meal, or perhaps the Maori delicacy tuna/native eel. The fish and eel can either be served fresh or smoked. Indigenous wine and ale is served with dinner.

The riverboat dinner will include:

  • An indigenous inspired menu designed by our chef for you and your guests to enjoy
  • Professional service provided by our hosts.
  • Talk to the chef as he prepares and cooks your dinner
  • Taste some of the raw ingredients, and interact with the chef
  • Storytelling – be entertained as our hosts tell you stories about our living landscapes, the people, and traditions
  • Cultural Activity – Weaving or carving a treasure to take home

Transfers to Riverboat can be arranged ex-Taupo or Rotorua

Minimum: 4 pax, Maximum: 12 pax.  Larger groups can be catered for by prior arrangement

This additional experience is subject to a venue hire fee

Why not enjoy one of our guided walks, and then the riverboat experience for dinner after the walk
